# Notices — mendelian-randomization 1.0.2

Prepared on 25 September 2026 after the owner directed a complete recheck of the
six published Nexitia skills and confirmed that this original skill must not be
assigned GPL merely because it calls open-source software.

Package license: Nexitia Skill License 1.1 + third-party licenses. The commercial
license applies only to the Nexitia-controlled files identified in `RIGHTS.json`.
The separately installed R and Python runtimes retain their own licenses. This
archive contains no dependency source or binary, authentic GWAS row, article PDF,
original article figure, author script or historical software archive.

The reusable workflow was commissioned by the owner and prepared with AI
assistance in September 2026. The preserved source review found no copied Walker
case-study code or historical TwoSampleMR code in the reusable skill. The R runner
calls exported functions from separately installed TwoSampleMR, jsonlite and
digest; its dependency inventory is in `runtime-dependencies.json`. This
operational rights decision is not a legal opinion, institutional-assignment
review or counsel certification.

The earlier 1.0.0-public.2 package used GPL-3.0-or-later as a conservative release
election. That immutable archive and any rights already received under it remain
preserved. Editions 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 do not claim to revoke an earlier grant or convert a
third-party open-source component into proprietary material.

Edition 1.0.2 adds documentation recommending an OpenGWAS account and JWT for the
fullest source-discovery and remote retrieval workflow. OpenGWAS is an external
service governed by its own EULA, privacy notice, authentication, allowance and
data-source terms. No OpenGWAS credential, API response or dataset is included in
this package. The local scripts do not contact OpenGWAS automatically.

The scientific reproduction used Walker et al., “Using the MR-Base platform to
investigate risk factors and drug targets for thousands of phenotypes,” version
2, DOI 10.12688/wellcomeopenres.15334.2 (CC BY 4.0), specifically case 2.
Nexitia-generated public comparison reports and figures remain CC BY 4.0 with
Walker attribution and change disclosure. Those proof assets are not part of this
paid package and are not relicensed by Nexitia Skill License 1.1.

Attribution does not imply endorsement. A technical numerical reproduction does
not establish instrumental-variable assumptions, clinical efficacy, biological
causality, institutional approval or fitness for clinical use.
