# Bounded biomedical reading example

Question: What does the VITAL fracture report establish, and what remains outside its tested population?

This is a known-report critical reading demonstration, not a systematic review. On 24 September 2026 an exact-title PubMed search returned a phrase warning and zero hits. The provider correctly marked it partial. A verified PMID lookup then returned one record; batch metadata and PMC BioC retrieval succeeded. Both queries and failures remain in the search log. One report was retained and inspected; no independent second screening reviewer participated.

Sources inspected: PubMed PMID 35939577 and PMC9716639, especially Methods, Results, Table 2 and Discussion limitations. The supplement and individual participant data were not inspected. Source locations use offsets in the fetched BioC representation and named sections. Notice review was limited to retrieved PubMed metadata; absence of a flag does not certify an article free of later notices.
